The world’s first iPhone 12 Pro Max with USB-C is listed on eBay

Apple has never decided to implement the USB-C port in its iPhone smartphones, although it has already been done in iPads. Now we find out that someone will become the happy owner of the iPhone 12 Pro Max with such a port. It was put up for auction on eBay and we can guess that the final price will not be low.

iPhone 12 Pro Max with USB-C is the work of DEPP from Slovakia. Its engineers replaced the Lightning connector with a new one. Importantly, working in this way you can both charge the battery and transfer data. The device is operational. The auction will end on Thursday and the final price is likely to be high.

At this time, the price was only $ 1,350. In the fall of last year, however, a similar iPhone X with USB-C was at the auction, the auction amount of which ended with as much as $ 86 thousand. We can guess that the 12 Pro Max model will be sold for even more.

Many iPhone owners have long been waiting for Apple to deploy the more widespread and acclaimed USB Type-C port on their iPhones, as it did on the iPad Pro or MacBooks. Especially users of “PRO” devices would welcome one cable for all the devices they use daily in their work. We have decided to fulfill this desire at least in part and we offer original Apple iPhone mobile phone with a USB-C port instead of the original Lightning port.

If you liked the USB-C iPhone X project from Kenny Pi and you wished you had one too, so there is one home-made gem. Apple is quite conservative about adding components used by competitors, although it did on iPad Pro and Macbooks. And why NO on iPhones? No one knows the answer, but it will probably be around Apple MFi certification. So the only way is to customize your own iPhone. It sounds really simple, but after watching the mentioned Kenny Pi’s video, it’s actually like a patient’s brain surgery. One bad move and no iphone and no joy.

We decided to sacrifice one of our iphones and test our skill and endurance. We have implemented original MFi certified chip from Apple and replaced the original Lightning to a high quality USB-C port.

From the outside, what seems like a simple connector replacement is, in fact, a procedure comparable to a small operation that requires adequate skills in microelectronics, knowledge of electronic circuits and their wiring, and a great deal of patience.
