Tamale Central Hospital cancels all surgeries over shortage of water, essential supplies
All surgeries at the Tamale Central Hospital have been cancelled effective Thursday, December 23, 2021.
In a memo from the hospital’s Specialist Surgeon to the Medical Superintendent, the decision has been taken due to “the shortage of essential supplies and water in the hospital”.
This unfortunate situation, has for the past three weeks, resulted in patients having to buy “almost all consumables for their surgery”.
“This has led to a lot of negative discussions on the media”.
