“Stay away from security recruitments” – NPP chairman to NDC supporters
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the North East Region, Mr. Nurudeen Fuseini, has warned supporters of Ghana’s main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stay away from the ongoing security recruitments in the country, myjoyonline.com reports.
According to the report, the NPP chairman, while speaking on a local radio station encouraged supporters of the ruling party to apply even if they were not qualified.
He said the leadership of the NPP intends to ensure that names of NDC supporters among the applications are struck out to make way for members of the NPP who voted for the government.
“As you’re aware, recruitments into the security services are underway. I encourage all party members to send in their applications. If you had ever come out as an NDC supporter to criticize the NPP, we will fish you out and remove your application”, the Chairman was quoted as saying.
“I have to be honest with you”, he continued. “For us as a party in the region, we will disregard the so-called due process, we are going to apply our set of party rules because we are in power”.
The chairman also addressed a myriad of accusations levelled against him by party supporters in the region. Amongst other claims, the chairman has been accused of working against the political ambition of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He denied all the allegations.
