It says the manner of the arrest generated into a scuffle and subsequent gunshots by the “unidentified men” and “call for help form the people in the neighbourhood” attracted the attention of Rev Owusu-Bempah.

“The gun shots by the then unidentified men and the call for help from the neighborhood caught the attention of
Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu-Bempah who halted his ministration at church and moved out to the scene to get details
of what was happening. Upon being informed that one of his Junior Pastors had been arrested, he followed up to

The statement said that when Rev Owusu-Bempah got to the Greater Accra Police Command, he was detained around 1:30pm for investigation.

“We confirm that our Junior Pastor sustained some injuries and has since received medical treatment and is still in police custody with 3 others”, the church reveled.

“Our attention has again been drawn to a sermon making rounds on social media purporting that Apostle Dr. Isaac
Owusu-Bempah was encouraging the giving of monetary inducements for favors in return.
We would like to state categorically that these statements were assertions alluding to some generalized
misconceptions people have. He further admonished the congregation to seek the face of God in their quest to be
connected to their helpers and not necessarily through monetary inducements. We entreat the General Public to
kindly disregard the false interpretation attached to the video”, it added.
