Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, former president of the Ghana Football Association and a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed deep concerns about the current state of his party. In a recent interview on Citi TV, he lamented the decline of discipline and the abandonment of the party’s original development-oriented principles.

According to Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, the NPP, which was originally founded with a focus on development and principles of patriotism, has now been overrun by individuals primarily interested in accumulating personal wealth and property, rather than working collectively to advance the country. He reminisced about a time when the party was led by respected figures who upheld these principles, even citing the youth organiser of the party as an example of a gentleman with integrity.

He argued that the party has strayed from its founding motto of “Development in Freedom,” and he expressed disappointment with the absence of meaningful development initiatives under the current government.
