No need to consult you before you can be removed – Yammin replies Muntaka, others

National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Joseph Yammin is arguing that  it not mandatory on the party leadership to consult Parliamentary leadership before changes can be effected.

“You don’t have to be informed when the party is going to appoint you for any position. And after your appointment you are not to be informed if you are going to be removed. We only inform you that, look your service is not needed at this time”, Mr Joseph Yammin justified recent changes.

“I have gone through it before”, he added.

Mr Yammin’s comments come days after some minority members of Parliament expressed their displeasure about the decision by the party to remove some key leadership in parliament.

New changes in the Minority Caucus in Parliament has, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Kwame Governs Agbodza and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as new leaders to replace Haruna Iddrisu, James Klutse Avedzi, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka as Minority Leader, Deputy Minority Leader and Minority Chief Whip, respectively.

The decision has however been resisted by a section of MPs in Parliament who indicate that they were not consulted which smacks of disrespect

But according to Joseph Yammin, Members of Parliament themselves are not bigger than the party executives hence they must respect the decision made and take it in good faith.

“So I don’t see where the issue of we weren’t consulted and whatever that has come. Because whether we consulted you or we didn’t the powers to make you serve the party in that capacity doesn’t rest with you”, Mr Joseph Yammin said this in an interview with Radio Gold monitored by MyNewsGH.com.

He further revealed that, everybody who matters in the issue was consulted, except is the minority caucus in Parliament which no one cannot question.

“And the reason we didn’t consult them was that, if we had done that, we wouldn’t have been able to do what we have done”, he revealed.
