My personality gives NDC more votes here – A/R Chairman
Ashanti Region Chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews has described his calmness, gentleness and reserved attitude as a strategy to attract more votes for the party in the Region.
The regional chairman, who is widely known to be introvert, advised delegates to maintain him in power as regional chair to lead the party to victory in 2024 because his attitude and personality alone attracts more votes for NDC.
Mr Nana Akwasi Andrews touted that even his personality wins more votes for NDC in Ashanti Region because with respect, he is always appealing to the people, calling on voters to retain him as regional chair to attract more votes to oust the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power in the upcoming general elections.
He was speaking exclusively on Akoma FM’s weekend political show Wonsom, which is also televised on Onua TV, Saturday, November 12.
Nana Akwasi, who is urging delegates to reelect him, told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that “even my personality gives more votes to NDC because the people love my style and my calmness unlike some people who are rude and rough, whose attitude always calls for riots and chaos. NDC needs a leader who will attract more votes even from NPP camp to sail us through to power”.
In 2016, the NDC managed to poll 497,242, which represented 23.03 percent but in 2020, under the leadership of Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews, the NDC galloped from 497,242 to 652,962 representing 26.08 percent.
The regional chairman argued that with this track record if he is maintained as chairman, the party will appreciate in votes which will sail the NDC into power 2024.
The NDC Ashanti Regional Delegates’ Congress is slated for Sunday, November 13 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The elections will afford delegates the opportunity to cast their votes to elect new regional executives who will lead the party for the next four years.
