MIUI 14 is coming! launch date and details emerge from codebase
MIUI 13 was expected with great anticipation, and although the reports suggest an intermediary MIUI 13.5 update, there is already some evidence of MIUI 14 arrival. Now that the doors are open, we expect a wide array of leaks to emerge in the upcoming days. Although several devices are yet to receive MIUI 13, it’s not surprising that Xiaomi is already doing the hard work under the wraps. While the MIUI 13 rollout advances, the company is already preparing for the next big thing.
The folks at Xiaomiui.net found evidence of the upcoming update. They have decompiled some of the system apps of the software’s codebase and found MIUI 14 references on the codebase. The “nuwa” codename which belongs to the upcoming Xiaomi 13 appears in this leak. After decompiling system apps, the developers found evidence of the MIUI 14 update. Apparently, Xiaomi is internally testing MIUI 14 on devices supported, and on some that are yet to be revealed such as the Xiaomi 13. Although the device may still be a few months away from a release, we know that the company is already working on it, and perhaps already has functional prototypes.
MIUI 14 possible release date
According to the report, Xiaomi may be preparing a surprising rollout of MIUI 14. This rumor states that there won’t be an MIUI 13.5 after all. Xiaomi may update its smartphones straight to MIUI 14. The August 16 date is exactly 12 years after MIUI’s first release. Therefore, Xiaomi may be preparing a party for this. Of course, this is just an assumption right now. There are a few weeks to come ahead of August 16. And the company will likely start a marketing campaign if it really intends to release anything.
Of course, this seems like mere speculation at the moment. Xiaomi is indeed working on MIUI 14 at this point, but it may still go with MIUI 13.5 ahead of a bigger release. We’ll keep an eye on the rumor mill for more details regarding the update.
