Ghana Police Service to undertake mass burial for unclaimed and unknown dead bodies
The Ghana Police Service will by the close of work this week undertake a mass burial for about two hundred (200) unidentified dead bodies at the Police Hospital Mortuary.
A press statement from the service signed by DSP/Mr. Yaw Nketia-Yeboah on Monday 23rd August, 2021 reads, “The general public is hereby reminded of the mass burial disseminated by various media from July 05, 2021 involving Two Hundred (200) unclaimed and unknown bodies to decongest the mortuary of the Ghana Police Hospital”.
The Police Service is therefore calling on the general public to help identify the dead bodies to prevent a situation where a known body would be added to the earmarked mass burial.
“It would therefore be appreciated if members of the public make efforts to contact the Pathology Department of the hospital from today Monday August 23, 2021 to help identify the bodies. This is to avert a situation whereby such bodies are added to those earmarked for the mass burial’ – the statement added.
