Ghana Armed Forces commence investigations into “strange bag” found at Kotoka International Airport

The Management of Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) says investigations have begun into an “unattended bag” found at Terminal 3 of the Kotoko International Airport.

A statement released by the GACL today “confirms that on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at around 9pm, an unattended bag was sighted at the arrival hall of Terminal 3, Kotoka International Airport”.

Subsequently, “the Base Ammunition Depot Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces was immediately brought in to conduct preliminary assessment of the bag and its contents”.

It was then taken away for further investigations. The GACL has assured that the outcome of the investigations will be made known to the public.

“Management of GACL wishes to apologize for the disruption in the facilitation process during the period and assures the travelling public of its commitment to ensure their safety and security at our airports”, the statement adds.
