GES beats retreat, reverts to trimester system for basic schools

Earlier this month the Ghana Education Service (GES) indicated it has introduced a Semester-based academic calender for public Kindergaten, Primary and Junior High School.



Dr. Kwabena Tandoh who is the Deputy Director-General for Quality and Access of Ghana Education Service said the Semester-based system will help ease pressure on teachers, decongest the various schools and help align the academic calender.

The new system was met with mix reactions. With some kicking against the new system.

Well, the Ministry of Education has beaten a retreat and announced yesterday that they are back to a trimester academic year.
