Entertainment Round – Up
Entertainment Round-Up like the name implies is going to look back at some of the top entertainment stories over the past seven days. It is going to be a weekly write – up of all the entertainment stories that made the headlines.
The week began with veteran, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, urging the players in the ‘Make believe’ industry not to make public or endorse the political parties they support.
The ‘Obra’ actress said the repercussions were dire should their preferred political parties lose the elections citing her negative experience as an example.
Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu thinks otherwise. He said, “I will not endorse a political party but I don’t have any problem with a celebrity doing so because they need to survive”.
“Most of them (celebrities) don’t have side jobs and with the Covid – 19 pandemic affecting every sector of the economy, this is the right time for celebrities to make money from the politicians since this is an election year.

Maame Dokono eeiiiii! Kwaku manu said he has heard your advice oooo! but “ɛkom nti” they’ll not take ooo tooom!
Joint 77, one of the sacked militants of Shatta Wale, has disclosed that he provided roof over the head of Shatta Wale during his hustling days.
“Shatta Wale was with me in my home. During the hustle days, things were not easy; so I gave him shelter in my house. My family knows this. He was living in my room,” he said.
This is what I think about the matter. Joint 77 should focus on his career and try as much as possible to avoid questions about Shatta Wale. He should know that he is granting all this interviews because of Shatta Wale. The media houses he gets invited to are using him for ratings. He should talk more about his new songs and talk less about his former boss because the hype doesn’t last forever.
Nana Aba Anamoah and Hajia “4 Real” Mona raised the birthday presents bar this year. They both got a Range Rover each as presents for their birthdays this year with the latter even getting a house at Trassaco in addition. Their birthdays made headlines for weeks.
Last week was budding actress Efia Odo’s birthday and people were expecting a Range Rover or something grand but all she got was bottles of wine, champagne and “sexy” cakes. And as expected she was heavily trolled for not getting a car on her birthday.
This week she hits back hard at trolls mocking her for not getting a car as birthday present. The sexy actress took to her twitter page to air out her displeasure. She said, “I didn’t get a car for my birthday but if I did y’all would’ve been the same people saying that I had to fuck for it. It’s so sad that y’all worship material things to the core that of someone doesn’t have it you make fun of them. Pathetic miserable people.”
Couldn’t agree more with Efia. We are indeed pathetic miserable people.
Media General, owners of TV3, have locked horns with a popular movie producer, Socrate Safo, and a court suit against the company has become inevitable.
TV3, recently showed a Ghanaian movie called ‘Play Boy’ on its platform and this has not gone down well with Mr. Safo who says he is the owner of the movie and therefore deems it copyright infringement for TV3 to have shown the movie without his permission whatsoever.
TV3 has however fired back at Mr. Safo saying their checks show he is an imposter and not the owner of the movie, PlayBoy, and therefore lacks the locus to claim copyright infringement.
The station has however not mentioned who, they believe, is the owner of the movie but has rather dared Socrate Safo to prove he is the owner of the movie in question.

Interestingly, some cast and crew of the PlayBoy movie have expressed surprise at the claim by TV3 that the movie is not the intellectual property of Safo.
Checks showed that Mr. Safo, for years, has been collecting royalties for the movie from other organizations. The credits in the movie even have his details as the owner.
Lawyers of filmmaker, Leila Djansi, has issued a letter to actress Kafui Danku over “defamatory” comments she made about her some days ago.
According to actress Danku, Miss Djansi is badmouthing her to some colleagues in the entertainment industry because she asked for her help and she couldn’t give.
Miss Danku later issued an apology, “I regret posting on social media and this would not happen again. I will make efforts to resolve the differences… I would appreciate people who shared to kindly delete or take down the post since it was as a result of anger. I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I APOLOGIZE.”
She has been instructed to cause the retraction of the said words from all third party media outlets and blogs which have published same and also cause the said apology to have published and circulated, particularly on your Facebook wall with the same prominence as was given the defamatory words, by the close of 23rd of July, 2020.
Kafui Danku paa you embarrass somebody potorr like this and then turn around and come and apologize? Leila Djansi should teach her lesson. She should go ahead with the law suit.
You can call Shatta Wale so many things but not a liar. After his ground-breaking collaboration with Grammy award winning singer, Beyonce, people were wondering whether a video was/will be shot for their “Already” song.
Last year, the “Ayoo” hitmaker in an interview on “Good Evening Ghana” told the host Paul Adom-Otchere that a video was shot for the “Already” song but people doubted him. The video was shot as part of the “Black is King” film to be aired on Disney+
It was supposed to be released on the 31st of this month but a snippet of the official music video was leaked and indeed Shatta Wale is seen in the video with Queen Beyonce. What a time to be a fan of Shatta Wale!
