Entertainment Round-Up like the name implies is going to look back at some of the top entertainment stories over the past five days (Monday-Friday). It is going to be a weekly write–up of all the entertainment stories that made the headlines.
01/11/21 – I Would Have ‘Seks’ With My Father If Not The Love I Have For My Mother – Esther Ifeoma Nwachukwu
A budding Nigerian actress Esther Ifeoma Nwachukwu has set tongues wagging with rage after she was heard spewing ‘nonsense’ on social media.
A video making rounds on social media captured the actress saying she would love to have steaming ‘seks’ with her biological father but the love she has for her mother is stopping her.
She claims the pain her mother might deal with if she finds out her daughter has slept with her husband stops her every time she has the urge to do that despicable act.
“If not for the love I have for my mother and I don’t want my mother to die, who is my father wey I no for Knack?” she quizzed in the trending video. “Asem ben koraa nie!”
02/11/21 – I Don’t Do Side Chics – Rapper, Kwaw Kese Reveals
Emmanuel Kofi Botwe, known by his stage name Kwaw Kese and popularly called Abodam has revealed that he’s not having multiple partners because his wife is enough for him. Hmmmmm!
The 2008 Ghana Music Awards artist of the year stated that having a side chic is problematic as nothing good comes out of it. In an interview on Cape Coast Kastle FM, the Ghanaian rapper said being with one woman is ideal and that’s what he practices.
“I don’t have a side girl because I’m not capable of it.” Having a girlfriend isn’t easy since it comes with its own set of problems. Imagine you’re having a fantastic time with your wife when your side woman sends you a message; it’ll ruin everything.
On smoking, the rapper in an interview on Hitz FM said he has taken a break from smoking because he is now a “matured man.”
Even though, he didn’t state what exactly he smokes, he said he has gotten to the stage where he needed a break.
“Now, I have taken a break. Now I am a matured man, I am grown, I have kids. I have slowed down on some things,” he said.
“I was crazy, now the craziness has toned down. Now it is beautiful madness,” he added.
The Abodam crooner was on November 22, 2014 arrested by the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi for allegedly smoking marijuana in public.
03/11/21 – I Never Saw My Son’s Body, I Only Received His Clothes – Terry Bonchaka’s Mother Sadly Narrates 18 Years After His Death
The mother of the late Ghanaian hiplife musician Terry Bonchaka has granted an interview and made public some hidden details about the death of the musician.
18 years after the death of Terry Bonchaka, his mother, Madam Charlotte Adjetey, has not gotten over the pain.
Madam Charlotte Adjetey disclosed in an interview that she never saw the remains of Terry Bonchaka after he died. According to her, she only received shoes and clothes belonging to Terry Bonchaka but she did not get the opportunity to see him again.
The woman revealed that the call she received that announced the death of her son still rings in her head.
Speaking on where she was when the news came, Terry’s mother said the news woke her up from sleep and she rushed to hospital.
Upon reaching the hospital, she was denied entry to go see the mortal remains of her son. “I went to the hospital to meet the person he was with before his death, and he informed me, but I didn’t understand how it happened because my son was on the passenger’s side, but he couldn’t say anything.” “I wanted to go inside, but they wouldn’t let me.” It was a very difficult time for me, but they never let me go,” she cried.
04/11/21 – I Used To Sell Kerosene – Stonebwoy Reveals
Award-winning Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy is on a media tour promoting his new reggae smash hit “Greedy Men”. He made a stopover at Citi TV where he revealed that growing up, his mom was into trading, and that was how his family made a living.
When asked by the host if he ever helped his mom with her trading, Stonebwoy was quick to answer in the affirmative.
“I sold too, one time I followed my sisters to sell kerosene. In my house we sold water to the area…” he narrated.
He continued; my dad also run a mill. We would mill corn, cassava, and I actually always wanted to close early from school and come work at the mill.”
Elsewhere, the current Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Mark Okraku Mante has lashed out at Ghanaian entertainers claiming the industry is dying or dead.
Movie producers in the Kumawood industry claim the digitalization of the film industry buried their craft in the sands of time as no one now queue to buy compact discs but would stream movies online.
Music producers also cry that gone were the days where music lovers would buy their albums and queue for cassettes but these days one has to go online to stream music which is killing their craft.
But in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz this morning, Mr. Mark Okraku said all these entertainers are crying wolf because they refuse to learn and upgrade themselves to meet the changing world.
According to Mark, it is their career that is dying not the entertainment industry because they do not want to seek more knowledge and evolve.
05/11/21 – Ex-Prez Mahama Donates GHC100,000 To Radio Gold To Restart Operations
Former President John Mahama has donated GHC100,000 to the management of Radio Gold to restart their operations following the return of their operating license by the National Communications Authority.
The cash donation was reportedly handed over to the management of the station on Wednesday, November 5, 2021.
On October 12, the NCA announced the restoration of the radio broadcasting authorizations to Radio Gold, XYZ, and 131 others.
