Breaking News: NDC stalwart, Ama Benyiwa Doe dead at 71


Reliable information reaching indicates that NDC stalwart, Ama Benyiwa Doe is dead at age 71.

The former Member of Parliament (MP) who was appointed by the late President John Atta Mills as Central Regional Minister and accordingly served in that capacity from 2009 to 2012 died in Tema this morning, Sunday 19th September, 2021.

She was a member of the council of State under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration (from 2013 to 2017).

Christened Comfort Saah, Mrs. Benyiwa Doe, born in 1950 comes from Gomoa West in the Central Region of Ghana.

She served as an MP for Gomoa West constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 1992 to 2004. She lost the seat to New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Joe Kingsley Hackman in the 2004 Ghanaian general elections.

She worked as a Central Regional Women Organizer for the NDC and later the National Women Organizer. The hardworking and fearless Ama Benyiwa Doe also worked as a communicator for the party representing and defending the party on various media platforms, radio and television.
