Arise Ghana Demo: Media to hail the Police, blame demonstrators for the chaos – Barker-Vormawor
Mr. Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor says the media will hail the Police and blame the Arise Ghana Demonstrators for the chaos which erupted during the demonstration.
He has therefore advised the participants from watching “TV this evening”.
He stated that the demonstrators will be sorely disappointed should they watch TV today, Tuesday June 28, 2022.
This disappointment, he claims, will result from the media blaming the demonstrators for the chaos which erupted at the demonstration.
The #FixTheCountry convener wrote on his Facebook page,
“Young people listen to me.
Congratulations on a successful demonstration. You are on the side of history!
But here is my advice to you. Do not watch TV this evening, or you will be sorely disappointed. Ignore it!”
“All the media will project tonight is that the demonstrators misbehaved themselves; and that the Police were the ones who brought calm through tear gas”, he stated while adding that the media “will hail the Police as messiahs. And even those who criticize the Police will claim that there were bad people on both sides”.
He particularly cautioned the demonstrators against watching “Evans Mensah’s PM Express and Paul Adom Otchere’s show”.
“Our lives in this democracy is a PR battle. If you want your sanity, don’t watch Evans Mensah’s PM Express this evening. Avoid Paul Adom Otchere minstrel show”, he added.
“You might punch your television!
No matter what the PR narrative is; remember whose side you are on. You are on the side of young people who want a better future. You are not on the side of the people who are trained for years to de-escalate tension and yet keep killing protesters.
Fight back by calling the “If you see something say something hotline” to report the tyranny you witnessed today!
Protestors Lives Matter!”, Mr. Barker-Vormawor stated.
